Brooklyn trio Psincerity pairs irresistibly tuneful early-’80s British-pop jangle with an unapologetically counterfeit English accent, a bassist who has served in more unheralded local bar bands than any living fifty-something, and a self-taught drummer who would prefer you weren’t watching. Possessing the worst work ethic of any New York band, they’ve spent three years insisting their eight songs are unimprovable classics—a belief requiring arguably little effort to maintain—and have now collected them on a brand-new record, this autumn’s must-own accessory for the chronically underwhelmed.
